Theme: Rural Riding

The theme of the training ride is rural riding. Review of Motorcycle Roadcraft (The Police Rider’s Handbook) is recommended, Chapter 3 Information observation and anticipation pp 47-78. The focus for the theme is on observation anticipation and planning. The route is chosen to optimise the rural element keeping urban riding to a minimum. It is a mixture of A, B and unclassified roads. For your information on the ride recce there were instances of gravel washout, water running across the road, poor surface condition and potholes in isolated locations and you are advised to remain vigilant to these hazards. There are no known roadworks anticipated to be encountered on the route.
